Why Hire Us
Our Mission
For over 65 years, The Interchurch Center (TIC) has served as one of New York City's most unique gathering places, a historic institution where mission-driven organizations, community members, and creatives come together under one roof. Long considered one of the city's best-kept secrets, TIC has evolved beyond a traditional office environment into NYC's Hub for Nonprofit Collaboration and Impact.
Founded with a mission to foster interreligious engagement and promote social good, The Interchurch Center remains rooted in traditions of hospitality, community care, and meaningful exchange. Through cultural events, networking opportunities, tenant engagement, and shared community resources (including dynamic programming, a public library, and support for local artists), TIC creates space for ideas to grow, relationships to be built, communities to thrive, and changes to be made.

Why Hire Us
Our History

The Interchurch Center was born from a bold vision: to create a shared home where faith-based and nonprofit organizations could work side by side in service to the world. That vision took a historic step forward on October 12, 1958, when President Dwight D. Eisenhower participated in the laying of the Center’s cornerstone before a gathering of thousands.
From its earliest days, TIC has represented more than a building. It has been a place of faith, collaboration, dialogue, and service, bringing together people and organizations from diverse traditions around a shared commitment to the common good.
For more than six decades, The Interchurch Center has continued to evolve while remaining rooted in that original spirit of unity. Today, the Center carries that legacy forward, honoring its history while creating space for the organizations, ideas, and partnerships shaping the future.
Why Hire Us
Our Legacy
Today, The Interchurch Center continues its mission of bringing people and organizations together in a shared community rooted in faith, service, and collaboration. What began as a vision for Christian unity has grown into a vibrant home for faith-based, nonprofit, and mission-driven organizations working to make a meaningful difference locally and around the world.
Our legacy lives not only in our history, but in the people, partnerships, programs, and moments of connection that continue to fill our building. As TIC looks toward the future, we remain committed to honoring the vision on which we were founded while creating new opportunities for community, service, belonging, and impact for generations to come.
