Geoffrey Wiener

President, GWW Planning & Development, LLC

Geoffrey Wiener is an urban planner and facilities space manager with thirty-seven years of experience guiding growth and development of buildings and land for non-profit institutions, municipalities and other organizations. From 2001 to 2013 he served as head of the Space Planning and Development office at Columbia University Facilities. Here he brought together institutional, public and private stakeholders to find innovative solutions to diverse space use and real estate needs. These included planning and development of the new Manhattanville campus in West Harlem and acquisition, space management and leasing of University real estate at five existing campuses.

Mr. Wiener founded GWW Planning & Development in 2013 to provide strategic planning services to smaller institutions, developers and government decision makers. He has served as planning and development consultant for over 20 sites owned by various religious denominations throughout New York City and for Fordham University. Work includes development feasibility and zoning analyses, space programming, land use approvals, as well as crafting RFPs for development of mixed-use projects with housing, churches, schools and commercial.  He has a B.A., cum laude, in Urban Geography from Clark University in Worcester, MA and an M.S. in City Planning from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
