Mask Mandates and CDC Policies

By TIC Admin | June 16, 2021 | Announcement

Today, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that COVID-19 restrictions are lifted. The State’s and New York Forward industry guidance lifted across commercial settings, including retail, food service, offices, gyms and fitness centers, amusement and family entertainment, hair salons, barber shops, personal care services, among. This will allow fully vaccinated people to not wear masks or practice social distancing in outdoor and indoor spaces. Masks will still be required on public transit and in nursing homes, homeless shelters, correctional facilities, schools, and healthcare facilities.

With the removal of the State’s minimum standard for reopening, businesses are free to choose to lift all or some restrictions. Businesses are also authorized to require masks, and six feet of social distancing for employees and patrons within their establishments, regardless of vaccination status. The Interchurch Center will remove all signage for social distancing in the lobby and all public restrooms.

The Interchurch Center security staff will continue to remind visitors and tenants that mask must be worn by both vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals in the following areas of The Interchurch Center:

• Upon entering the building and approaching the reception desk
• In all TIC meeting rooms
• In the lobby area
• In the elevator and in the local elevator lobby
• In the cafeteria while placing or paying for an order
• In all public restrooms
• Traveling between floors while using the staircases
• ANY and ALL common areas in the building

Tenant agencies may decide how and when masks are necessary in their private offices.

Thank you.
