Community Works NYC, New Heritage Theatre Group, Harlem Arts Alliance, NoMAA, Center for Cuban Studies, and The Interchurch Center invite you to a special artist reception for Global Reflections 2018: Spirit of Community.
Featuring the remarkable talents of 19 emerging and established artists celebrating the diverse communities of our city and beyond. Through contemporary art and photography, each artist explores his and her own personal histories, rituals and cultural identity revealing the interconnection among us all. The exhibition includes arts celebrating Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Mexico and beyond.
Featured Artists: Diogenes Ballester, Rodriquez Calero, Edwin Cadiz, Élan Cadiz, Michael Cummings, Rene De Los Santos, Marcos Dimas, Maria Dominguez, Dominque Duroseau, Leslie Jimenez, Carlos Jesus Martinez, Yelaine Rodriguez, Alicia Smith.
It also features Cuban artists Suitberto Goire, Lescay (Alberto Lescay Merencio), Olazábal (Santiago Rodríguez Olazábal), Choco (Eduardo Roca Salazar), Mederox (José Mederos Sigler), Leandro Soto.
Spirit of Community 2018: Global Reflections, is curated by Community Works NYC’s Barbara Horowitz and guest curator Élan Cadiz.
