Eternal God, whose purpose would gather in one household of faith all those who name your name; we praise you this day for the vision wrought in stone of those whose will and constancy and sacrifice have fashioned to your glory and our use, this house of common work and prayer.
That all those who believe in God may dwell together in graciousness and unity and peace, that through common endeavor our oneness in the Lord may be known and spoken, that we, with sanctity and love in our midst may reconcile and redeem and teach all the world to live together in good will and peace,
We rededicate this building.
O God, who require much from those to whom much is given, call us anew to our high calling to serve you and your people; renew in us the mind of the servants of God who came not to be served but to serve. Lay upon us afresh the yoke which is easy and the burden which is light: help us to put our hand to the plough and not look back.
We beseech you to hear us, O God.
That you would revive the faith of your people and lead us out of sin and folly and untruth, that you would save us from the love of this world and the things of this world, and that you would remind us that here we have no abiding city.
We beseech you to hear us O God.
O God, let your work appear to your servants and your Glory to their children. Let your beauty be upon us and establish as yours the work of our hands. Yes, the work of our hands, establish as yours.
Amen.
