Five Star Carting and the recycling process:

After the material is picked up from our building, it is transported to their facility in Maspeth, NY. The material is dumped onto a "tipping floor" and pushed up a conveyor belt to a sorting line where it is manually separated into several different grades of paper, plastics, metal, glass, etc... Once separated, the material is baled (condensed into large blocks) and sold to both domestic and foreign mills. these mills use this material, some of which is collected from us as feedstock to make new products
