Wednesday Noonday Concerts

Music/Concerts

The December 7th concert of the WEDNESDAY NOONDAY CONCERTS series will feature our own Interchurch Center Gospel Choir in their annual presentation of Christmas music.

On December 14th, The Interchurch Center Chorus, will offer carols and anthems for the season that will include an arrangement of the spiritual “Mary Had A Baby” and other works ranging from a 16th-century carol by Michael Praetorius to a carol arrangement by the contemporary composer John Rutter.   Soprano Gale Limansky and baritone Roderic Gomez will be the featured soloists.

Everyone is welcome to join us for our annual MESSIAH SING-ALONG on Wednesday, December 21st, in the chapel.  Held during the time of our regular concerts, the Sing-Along will be extended by ten minutes to end at 12:45 p.m.  All the favorite choruses of the Advent and Christmas portion of the great oratorio and a selected aria will be included.  The event will conclude, as always, with the singing of the “Hallelujah Chorus.”   We ask that you bring your own copies of MESSIAH since only a limited number will be available at the rear door of the chapel.

The Wednesday Noonday Concerts will resume on January 25th with a concert by the critically acclaimed Russian Chamber Chorus under the direction of Nikolai Kachanov.  A service commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. will be held on Thursday, January 12th, and a service in recognition of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity will take place on Wednesday, January 18th.
