Marilyn Henrion makes exquisitely detailed art quilts which elevate the traditional craft of quiltmaking to a high level of sophisticated contemporary art making. The combination of richly textured fabrics, the reflected light and dazzle of juxtaposed colors as they intersect and the tiny hand wrought stitches join together to create a luscious and aesthetic viewing experience. A graduate of Cooper Union, her works have been exhibited and acclaimed internationally and are included in museum, corporate and private collections. Ms. Henrion is a 2005 recipient of an Artist Fellowship from The New York Foundation for the Arts and will be presenting a talk and demonstration on December 13 (Tuesday) in the gallery of her art making process. This presentation is co-sponsored by Artists & Audience Exchange, a public program of NYFA .
