About the Artist
Maria
Espinosa, is an artist whose native country of Columbia has inspired her to create wonderful
portraits of people. Childhood memories
of tropical fruits, flowers and landscapes with bright contrasting colors
contribute to the lively paintings, drawings and sculpted relief works that are
displayed in the corridor gallery. Looking closely, one finds her
unending fascination with many diverse materials such as Celluclay mixed with
plaster, torn, ripped and cut decorative papers and a combination of oil and
acrylic paint. Ms. Espinosa was educated
at Hunter College, the OCC School of Art and the
Arts Student League. Her works are
exhibited throughout the tri-state area. |
